Why isn't SUSE Linux 10.1 (formerly SUSE LINUX Professional) included with my Technical Subscription?
SUSE Linux 10.1 is considered a personal or home desktop solution. Because Technical Subscriptions focuses on enterprise-level software, we have included our enterprise-level desktop solution, SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop, in Technical Subscriptions. Novell Linux Desktop 9, which is the predecessor to SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop, is included as well. We also include SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and Novell Open Enterprise Server.
Which Technical Subscriptions include the SUSE Linux software?
Novell Software Evaluation and Development Library (NSEDL), Novell Professional Resource Suite (NPRS), Novell Tech Select Service and DeveloperNet Professional include the SUSE software.
For which Linux products are registration codes available?
Novell offers registration codes for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop, Novell Open Enterprise Server and Novell Linux Desktop 9.
Are there any licensing restrictions for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop, Novell Open Enterprise Server or Novell Linux Desktop 9?
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop, the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server portion of Open Enterprise Server, and Novell Linux Desktop 9 may be installed and used on server/client computers within your organization. However, access to patches and updates either via manual downloads or through an automatic download agent like YaST is restricted to users who have a maintenance subscription. Yes. However, keep in mind that only the code recipient is allowed to perform the updates.
