New Software

OpenOffice.org is a free suite of office productivity applications. And with the release of version 3.1 it now offers new and improved features, including screen appearance, file locking and graphic enhancement. . To help you be more productive, each of the applications has additional functionality including:

• Writer: Subtle highlighting, improvements to comments and further grammar checker integration

• Calc: Formula hot hints, performance improvements, improved sorting and zoom slider in the Status bar

• Chart: Flexible positioning of axes and handling of missing data

• Impress: Font size buttons

• Base: SQL Syntax highlighting, macro applications

The August Release also includes new versions of Novell's award-winning enterprise software including Novell Identity Manager, Novell eDirectory, Novell Sentinel and others.

Bonus Utilities

Bonus Utilities are handy programs that help you work more efficiently with the Novell solutions you use most often. Just install the ones you want and watch the difference these tiny pieces of software can make. This month's shipment includes 12 new and updated utilities, including:

• ab2csv: This cool tool will allow you to export a GroupWise address book into a CSV, comma-separated file or a tab delimited text file.

• Check Certificate Expiration Perl Script: The script will report if a certificate is expired, if it expires today, or if it will expire within a month.

• GroupWise Fetch Mail: GroupWise Fetch Mail will connect to external mail servers using the POP3 protocol to collect all mail messages from the accounts you have specified and will forward them into your GroupWise system.

• ZEN Imaging: Tool to Add Driver Modules to Imaging bootcd.iso: This tool is useful when adding new device drivers to bootcd.
