May 2006 Highlights - ZENworks Toolkit

Novell ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Administration Vols. 1 and 2 (Course 3062)

What's new in Novell ZENworks 7 Desktop Management? You can find out by completing Novell ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Administration (Course 3063). This two-volume course contains in-depth information on installing and configuring ZENworks 7 Desktop Management services (and related ZENworks 7 components) on a Novell Open Enterprise Server—Linux server. As you progress through the course, you will learn how to:

  • Install ZENworks 7 Desktop Management
  • Perform ZENworks Desktop Management policy management
  • Implement server, user and workstation package policies
  • Automatically import and remove workstations
  • Use ZENworks Application Management
  • Distribute and package applications

  • CLIENT 4.9x ADM—provides an administrative template for Novell Client 4.9x
  • ZEN Remote by IP#151;provides a GUI ZEN remote-control/remote view by workstation IP
  • Remote Console Launcher#151;provides a wrapper for the remote-control console program
  • USB Drive Letter tool#151;changes the drive letter for USB sticks
  • Policies.exe—allows you to temporarily remove policy restrictions, do what needs to be done, then put the policy restrictions back–all without a reboot
  • Pause Group Policies—allows you to pause group policies so that an admin can work on a locked-down machine under a user's id
  • Print Queue Configuration Tool–SNAP—sets up NDPS printers, including paper size, stapler and so forth
  • Vendor and Hardware Type Tagging 1.1—creates registry keys for hardware type and vendor name
