New Software

Novell GroupWise Mobile Server, Powered by Intellisync

Novell GroupWise Mobile Server, powered by Intellisync, securely synchronizes e-mail, appointments, contacts, tasks and notes between Novell GroupWise and hundreds of mobile devices. With GroupWise Mobile Server, your users have secure access to e-mail, appointments, tasks and notes from anywhere. They can view almost any type of attachment (word processing documents, spreadsheets or presentations) in graphical format. And when you enable the integrated "push" technology, GroupWise Mobile Server pushes data to the mobile device (through a wireless carrier of your choice or over WiFi) as soon as it arrives in the user's inbox.

If you have users on Palm Treos, HP iPAQ Pocket PCs, Nokia, Motorola or any of the other 400-plus devices supported by Intellisync, GroupWise Mobile Server will sync collaboration information between the server and the device. In fact, GroupWise Mobile Server works on handhelds, personal digital assistants (PDAs), laptops and tablet PCs, from a broad range of vendors. Supported operating systems include Palm O/S, Symbian, Windows Mobile, SmartPhone, PocketPC, SyncML, J2ME and many more.

Note: GroupWise Mobile Server supports hundreds of devices, but the extensive list does not include the BlackBerry. To integrate GroupWise with BlackBerry devices, you will need to install Research In Motion's (RIM's) BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES). Please visit www.blackberry.com/go/groupwise for more information on BlackBerry options and offers for GroupWise users.

Novell Storage Manager 2

Novell Storage Manager (formerly File System Factory) is the only automated cross-platform solution for managing personal and collaborative storage. It's completely identity-driven, giving you a fast, secure way to provision, manage, migrate and archive users' storage based on their network identities and company roles.

What does this really mean? It means you will spend very little time and effort managing storage. After you define your storage policies once for the whole enterprise, you can sit back and relax. You'll get precise, automated management that doesn't require your attention or hands-on maintenance. With Novell Storage Manager, you can:

  • Easily manage storage on Microsoft Windows, Linux and NetWare, leveraging their respective directory technologies (Microsoft Active Directory and Novell eDirectory)

  • Automatically allocate, manage and clean up storage

  • Migrate storage--quickly and transparently--for thousands of users simultaneously

  • Use policies to predefine how much storage users and groups receive based on their roles within the organization

  • Pre-populate a new user's home directory with essential files

  • Limit the types of files that users can store on the network

  • Preserve intellectual property by automatically archiving a former user's data or forwarding it to an authorized manager

  • Demonstrate regulatory compliance with real-time enforcement and in-depth reports

  • Centrally monitor storage across your enterprise

  • Use your existing hardware
