With a new installation of Netscape Enterprise Web Server for NetWare, you may need to migrate exisiting Web sites to the Enterprise Server. These sites may contain HTML pages, a site map, or a Perl script that responds to a form, just to name a few examples of what can be involved in such a migration.

To transfer the existing Web site to your new Web Server, perform the following steps:

  • First, back up the original Web Server's directory files.

  • Rename the .SSI files extensions to .SHTML.

  • Move the HTML documents to the DOCS directory on the new Web Server.

  • Move the CGI and Perl scripts to the DOCS/LCGI directory.

  • Move the plug-in files to the PLUGINS directory.

  • Move any user database files to the USERDB directory.

  • Open Windows Explorer and select the files that are located in the Documents folder. Copy those files to the SYS:NOVONYX/SUITESPOT/DOCS directory on your Web Server.

  • Select the Perl files from your existing Web sites and copy those files to the SYS:NOVONYX/ SUITESPOT/DOCS/LCGI/PERL directory on the Web Server.
