I have about 30 servers running eDirectory 2.3.4 and I'm using the Universal Password in the tree. I need to upgrade the workstation import servers to 2.3.7. Do I need to upgrade all of the servers to keep things functional?
A.
The 2.3.4 and 2.3.7 versions of eDirectory should be compatible enough that the rollout can be spread out over a brief period of time. The only tool that seems to be specific to eDirectory 2.3.6 is the pwddiag utility (which checks password sync issues). Otherwise, the two versions should coexist without difficulties. However, you should probably make everything as consistent as possible on the server side.
