Q.

I'm using Novell ZENworks 6.5. When I launch a ZENworks application that is set to run as either a secure or unsecure system user, I often get "Problem: Application Launcher NT Service was not found to run the application as system user." Why?

A.

See TID 10095083. Novell is investigating this issue. If you need a workaround, do the following: Disable hyperthreading if you have applied the agent from SP1 (or SP1a or SP1b). If you have more than one CPU, disable all but one. (See Figure 7.)

Figure 7: The work around for ''Problem: Application Launcher NT Service was not found to run the application as system user'' issue with ZENworks is to disable hyperthreading if you have applied the agent from SP1 (SP1a or SP1b); if you have more than one CPU, disable all but one.
