Q.
I'm trying to configure the Novell exteNd Director using http://ip-address/nps/servlet/configure, but I get a 404 error. What can I do?
A.
Verify that Tomcat is up and running by browsing to the Tomcat Home screen at http://ip-address:8080. In the left frame, under Examples, click Servlet Examples, which will open a screen of small Java programs. Try executing one of the Java programs. If it works, then Tomcat and Java are working. Look in the nps folder (SYS:\ tomcat\4\webapps\nps); it should also contain *.html and other files. If these files are missing, an archive during the Installation failed to unpack. Make sure the index.html file, which starts the portal, is not missing from the nps directory. Browse to- http://ip-address:8080/nps/servlet/ configure. The "Welcome to Novell exteNd Director" screen should come up. Then browse to- http://ip-address/nps; when the login screen appears, you can log in to the portal.
