Q.
How is the ZENworks Web Server used?
A.
The ZENworks Web Server is an XML-RPC server that allows remote procedure calls over XML. This is used heavily by TED to send messages between the distributor and subscribers as well as between the administration tools (ConsoleOne and iManager) and the distributors and subscribers. The ZENworks Web Server service is also used by the ZENworks Web Server Agent to allow iManager to remotely execute Packages and enforce Policies. Finally, both ZENworks for Desktops and ZENworks for Servers inventory use the XML-RPC service to roll inventory scan information up between sites. ZENworks for Servers inventory uses this server to create the STR file as well.

The last thing to remember is to apply the latest patches from http://support.novell.com. There have been several publicly released patches since the release of Service Pack 2.
