Q.
How do I resolve the -669 error when trying to start TED on the distributor?
A.
A -669 error indicates that the distributor attempted to log in to the eDirectory tree and failed because it used the wrong password. The TED password is kept in the PASSWORD.TXT file located in the SECURITY\PRIVATE directory. If this file is deleted or becomes corrupt, this error is the result. To correct the problem, stop ZENworks for Servers and then re-install TED on the server making sure to select Create Objects. DO NOT DELETE THE DISTRIBUTOR. If you delete the distributor you would need to contact Novell Technical Services and request the Distribution Re-Assignment Utility. This tool will be included in ZENworks 6.5.
