Q.
What causes the Certificate Mismatch error I receive when I attempt to send distributions to my subscribers?
A.
ZENworks for Servers uses certificates to ensure that subscribers will only accept incoming distributions from their configured distributors. A Certificate Mismatch error indicates that the server identity stored in the subscriber's copy of the certificate does not match what is stored in the distributor's copy of the certificate. This most likely will happen when you change the DNS name of your distributor. To correct this problem do the following:
Stop the ZENworks for Servers services by typing EXITALL at the ZENworks for Servers console screen.
Delete the .KEYSTORE file from the ZENWORKS\PDS\TED\SEC URITY\PRIVATE directory on the distributor.
Delete the <server>.CSR file in the ZENWORKS\PDS\TED\SECURITY\CSR directory on the distributor.
Restart TED. This will generate a new distributor certificate.
Using ConsoleOne, copy the new certificate to the subscribers by right clicking the distributor and selecting Resolve Certificates.
