Are there any equivalent Java NWPKI API's? It would be nice if you could provide me a link to this, if at all there are any.

As far as I know - no, there aren't. Here is an excerpt from ncslib.txt:
The interfaces are provided entirely in C, and willgain the best cross platform support for the platforms to which NDS is intended to be supported. A future version of this API will offer Java interfaces as well as support for NDS for Solaris and other popular varieties of Unix.
