Q.
Dear Ab-end: After installing NetWare 6 Support Pack 3 throughout my organization, my Compaq servers are getting random "Drive Deactivation" messages, but my other servers do not get such messages. However Hewlett-Packard swears there is no problem with their servers or hard disk drives. Are they right?

Dear Driven: Yes. The problem lies between the HBAs that use the Compaq CPQRAID.ham driver and NetWare 6 Support Pack 3, which causes drive deactivations. Novell has released a fixed SERVER.EXE file in the NW56UP3.exe update.
