Issues with IP Address and Router

Q.

Dear Ab-end: We had problems with IP addresses changing when running a NetWare 6 server from a DSL Connection. The problem, as best we can tell, is the Novell server doesn't recognize the switch (router). This in turn makes IP addresses static for workstations because DHCP is enabled in them (Windows 9x/2000, Linux, and so on), but not the Novell server. What can we do to resolve this issue?

Dear IP Address Andy: You know, we had a Cool Solution (http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/) submitted by Caleb Squires that suggests the following: Download NetWare 6.5 because it supports the DSL Connection. The NetWare 6.5 IPv6 protocol supports routing, switches, and so on. Therefore, this makes your IP addresses static and accessible on the Internet, unlike NetWare 6.0, which only supports version 4 of the IP Protocol.

Want proof? Go to this IP address which is running off my DSL Connection on my NetWare 6.5 Server: http://64.211.39.96.
