Q.
I have heard a lot about Novell embracing Linux, its philosophies and the open source movement. I have also heard the discussion of something called "Forge." Would you mind filling me in about "Forge" and how my company and I can become a part of this movement?
Forging in the New World of Furneaux

Dear Forging: Novell introduced Forge at BrainShare Salt Lake City, April 2003. Needless to say, it was received with great enthusiasm. There are several websites for information about Forge, but let me suggest: http://forge.novell.com/modules/news , which takes you straight to the Forge news page.
In order to create a new project, you will need to create a Forge account for yourself. However, you can browse existing projects now. For example, you can look at and download the Novell UDDI Server, which is a featured project in Forge.
FYI, here is a quick blurb about Forge. Novell Forge is a place where developers can form communities to share ideas, experiences, news, documentation, tips, source code and configuration files about their individual projects within a secure environment. To get started, open an account and add your project to Forge.
