Q.
Can you point me in the correct direction for information on dsrepair -rc for eDirectory v8.6.2, what files it creates and what they mean?

A.
Dear Earl: OK, you asked for it, you got it, eDirectory! OK for serious now, -rc creates a directory information base or "DIB set." The official purpose of this is to dump the database to a file that can be sent to Novell for something, usually debugging or fixing purposes. You can treat it as a non-restorable backup (Novell can use it to restore, but you can't). The files are in SYS:SYSTEM\DSR_DIB and are named 00000000.$DU for the first 100M of the database, 00000001.$DU for the next 100M, and etc.
