Q.
Is it possible to use LDAP to allow users to change their eDirectory password via an Internet browser, and yet ensure that the password submitted to the server is secure and encrypted? How easy will it be to do this? Are there any API tools available if a customer is looking to implement this on their own?
Encrypting Passwords in Pabianice

Dear Encrypting: Novell's eGuide product will do this for you. If you wish to do this with Novell's LDAP NDK, you will need to make sure that you establish a secure SSL connection between the client and the server. You could even set up your own proprietary encryption system between the client and server.
