Q.
Dear Ab-end: I really need to uninstall the beta versions of eDirectory from my Solaris server so that I can install the shipping version. But my server keeps hanging when the daemon tries to restart. What can I do?

Dear Hanging: The quick and recommended way to remove replicas on the server is by using the following command:
Ndscfg -a <adminFDN> -R nds
This command cleanly removes eDirectory and updates the replica ring. If you're removing the packages, run the nds-uninstall command; never remove the packages directly. (Answer supplied by Paul F. McKeith of Novell)
