Q.
Dear Ab-end: I've heard Intel has issued a motherboard recall on some Pentium III-based computers, due to a defective Memory Translator Hub in the 820 chipset. How can I tell if my PC needs to be recalled?

Dear Watchful: If you want to know whether Intel's motherboard recall affects your Pentium III PC, Intel has provided a free utility at http://cgi.zdnet.com/slink?45847:2545961. This recall goes by the official moniker of "Intel Memory Translator Hub (MTH) Reboot Issue." (Answer provided by Terry Sorensen of Novell Developer Support)
