ZENworks for Networks: Licensing Model Clarification

Q.

Dear Ab-end: Could you clarify the licensing model of ZENworks for Networks? I'm not sure whether "per-user" license means per user connected on equipment managed by ZENworks, per user connected on a single site, per user declared on the NDS tree, or per user managed by ZENworks for Networks.

A.

Dear Policing: To clarify the user licensing model for ZENworks, "per-user" means a user that is connected to equipment managed by ZENworks for Networks. You can set up as many policy domains as needed, and monitors can be distributed throughout the network. Since the majority of users in a typical company require Internet access, and the edge device handling that access is usually the key point for bottlenecks, ZENworks for Networks would most likely need to be managing that edge device. This means that any user accessing the Internet would fall under the license. (Answer provided by Larry Russon of Novell's Net Management Services)
