Novell ICS: Support for Storage Area Networks

Articles and Tips: qna

Q.

Dear Ab-end: Does Novell's Internet Caching System (ICS) support Storage Area Networks?

-- Storing It in San Juan

A.

Dear Storing It: No. Some ICS vendors offer high-end systems with lots of disk space, but the disk space is used only to store cached information. ICS boxes can be set up in a hierarchy, in which case they check with each other for cached objects and have no need to share disk space.
