WordPerfect on a NetWare 4 server and I am receiving an "Access Denied"

Q.

Dear Ab-end: Hi. I'm running WordPerfect on a NetWare 4 server and I am receiving an "Access Denied" error message when I try to close WordPerfect. I then have TMP files that I can't seem to get rid of. When I try to delete them, my workstation locks up. Any ideas what can be causing this problem?

Dear Perfection: I believe this particular problem seems to be a Client32 issue and has been addressed in TID #10024875. This TID states the following:

";Previously, CLIENT32 would close intermediate instances of a multiply opened file with a ";Revoke Rights"; NCP. When the last instance was closed (with Revoke Rights), the server would respond with an error (";File not multiply opened";) and CLIENT32 would then send a normal close NCP. With compressed files, the NetWare 4.x server did not return an error and the file was never closed.

";A fix was made to use local client information about multiple open files and the client now sends a normal close NCP when only one instance of the opened file remained. An updated Client 3.1 Service Pack 2+ CLIENT32.NLM has been verified to fix this issue. Download the 9531FT1.EXE file from the http://support.novell.com URL. This patch is specifically for the 3.1 Service Pack 2 client. An update to the 3.2 and NT 4.7 clients will be available in the near future.";
