Q.
Dear Ab-end: I have been testing NW 3.12 for any Y2K problems. I have a Y2K approved BIOS. Here's my problem. When I boot the OS, the time is not set till I issue a SET TIME command with no perimeters. That shouldn't happen, should it?

Dear Sensitive: Uh, no. But your answer lies in this simple phrase: 3.2 Enhancement Pack. Customers with similar complaints have applied the enhancement pack and that problem seems to disappear. We know of a 250-user network where the administrator had similar concerns. He installed the 3.2 enhancement pack with all the latest patches, which, of course, contained the LSWAP routine, which updates SERVER.EXE. Even then, the same problems occurred, so he deleted SERVER.EXE and then copied his original SERVER.EXE from the diskette. Then he re-applied the 3.2 enhancement pack and everything went fine. The only thing we could figure was that, through the years so many patches and LSWAPS had corrupted the SERVER.EXE.
