Dear Ab-end: I want to built up a bigger logical drive on my RAID 5 system and so my volume settings will obviously need to be changed. I will probably need to add one more volume and also change the size of the original one. What do I need to know about such a volume size change? My biggest worry is about NDS backup and restore on that server. I also need to add long name support on the volume.

Dear Worrying: That's a tough one, but here is what I would do:
Make a fully verified backup, using whatever backup software you normally use.
Make two fully verified backups using SBACKUP with TSA410 and TSANDS loaded.
Make sure you can indeed restore from the backups.
Expand the existing volume size and create the new volume.
Reinstall NetWare on the server.
Restore the old volume's data.
Make sure you log out and back in again from the client workstation after adding long name support on the volume. Even though you add long name space, the client doesn't recognize it (and will still report an error) until you go through the login process again.
