Q.

Dear Ab-end: Is the "blue man" icon next to a mail message in GroupWise a sign of corruption?

—Icon Leery

A.

Dear Leery: The blue man icon that you see next to a mail message is telling you "this message is a personal item." It is impossible to send a personal item through the GroupWise Client, so when you see this icon next to a mail message, it probably does mean that a check has been run on that user/message database and it has found errors in the database and has corrected them. Because of this, it may have lost the distribution list associated with the item and hence thought the message was a personal item. You can create personal tasks as well, which should also have blue men next to them.
