Dear Timing: Novell is aware that GPS System Time will roll over at midnight on August 21, 1999, 132 days before the year 2000. Unless repaired, many GPS receivers on 22 August 1999 will think the date is 06 January 1980. Any system that relies on GPS for time synchronization is at risk and needs to be analyzed. The US Coast Guard Web site is a good source for detailed information on GPS and its ramifications. The URL is:
