Q.
Dear Ab-end: s it possible with one SMTP/MIME Gateway to support two or more host names(for example, company1.ch and company2.com) for incoming and outgoing (reply address) mails? If so, how do I set up NDS and GroupWise?

Dear Double: This configuration is possible, but you must follow these steps. For incoming messages, you can define more than one foreign name in the foreign name field by simply separating the names with spaces. All the host names in that field will be accepted for incoming mails. While the field only accepts 255 characters for a new option, the FRGNNAME.CFG file has been added to the SMTP/MIME gateway since the release of patch file SMTP1.EXE. The FRGNNAME.CFG file can hold more host names.
For outgoing messages, the first entry in the foreign name field of the gateway is normally combined with the GroupWise UserID or the users' gateway alias. You can define a post office alias for the SMTP gateway, but if you define such an alias, it will be used instead of the first entry in the foreign name field. There is one disadvantage: the Post Office alias will only combine with the GroupWise UserID but not the user alias (no John.Doe).
The SMTP/MIME NLM gateway documentation has a good description on the composition of outgoing and resolution of incoming SMTP addresses (it is found on page 115 of the GroupWise manual). Some versions of the SMTP gateway allow you to specify a user alias for the gateway that also includes the host portion of the address. However, this feature does not work in later versions, since the user and host portion are split up and looked at separately, and therefore the user alias are not compared to the host portion.
