Q.

Dear Ab-end: I've just upgraded to NetWare 4.10, but my SBACKUP software (which used to work just fine) doesn't work now. I get one of two messages ("Invalid sector size" or "Media not present") when I try to back up or restore files using SBACKUP. Can you help me out here?

Dear Corner: You probably need to download the SMSDIT.EXE file from the NSD area of NetWire. You can do this on CompuServe (GO NSD) or via ftp (ftp://ftp.novell.com:/pub/ netwire/nsd/smsdit.exe). The NSD area is non-browsable, so you need to supply the filename in order to download it. By the time you read this, the file will most likely be part of SBACK6.EXE in the NWOSFILES area in Lib 2 or 3.

Once you extract the SMSDIT.EXE file, you should have an SMSDI.NLM file dated 12/21/95 or later. Place this file in your server's SYS:SYSTEM directory. Unload the version of this NLM that you are currently using from server memory, and then reload this updated version.
