Q.
Where can I find more documentation about these issues?
A.
An initial set of Novell security information is available from the DeveloperNet Web site at http:\\www.novell.developer.com/What's New. Look for the "Security" topic (you may have to scroll down the page a bit).
Other background information on Novell's PKI, as well as Novell International Cryptographic Infrastructure (NICI) SDK and the Secure Authentication Services (SAS) SDK can be found at Novell's technical conference web site for BrainShare. The URL is http://www.novell.com/events/brainshare/weblist.html. These are PowerPoint presentations saved in the form of self-extracting zip files for the sake of storage compression. They are listed alphabetically on the web page:
"Novell's Security Story: Why, What, and When" (an overview of our security architecture and direction)
"Network Security Analysis: Fundamentals of Assessing Network Security Architectures and intraNetWare" (Orange Book vs. Red Book certification)
"Novell's Cryptographic Services" (a detailed cryptography presentation)
"Novell PKI Services" (the PKIS presentation, which may answer some of your questions. However, some minor details have changed since the BrainShare US presentations.)
"Novell's Secure Authentication Services" (covers graded authentication, single sign-on (SSO), and so on)
"The Security Role of NDS" (describes the role NDS plays in Novell's security architecture)
Look for additional product literature as it becomes available.
To communicate your security needs and feedback to Novell, send an e-mail to Crypto_Need@novell.com. No replies will be given.
