Problem description

The new kernel version requires new versions of kernel utilities and kernel modules for Cardbus/PCMCIA.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as a collection of RPM packages that
should be installed after installing the new kernel as described in
the appropriate Maintenance Web article but before
creating the initial RAM disk with 'mk_initrd'.
rpm -Fvh modutils.rpm
rpm -Fvh pcmcia.rpm
rpm -Fvh lvm.rpm
rpm -Fvh raidtools.rpm
rpm -Fvh reiserfs.rpm
Now build the initial RAM disk and reboot:
mk_initrd
/sbin/lilo -v
shutdown -r now
You may wish to give local users a grace time to log out before reboot by substituting 'now' with an appropriate amount of time, i.e. '+10' for ten minutes grace time.
