Install this update if you use 'mangling method = hash' in smb.conf

Problem description

A buffer overrun has been located in the code used to support the 'mangling
method = hash' smb.conf option. Please be aware that the default setting for
this parameter is 'mangling method = hash2' and therefore not vulnerable.
CVE assigned CAN-2004-0686 to this problem.


Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fhv samba.rpm samba-client.rpm samba-vscan.rpm
