Problem description

During installation, the partition table is initialized using the default
value of 63 sectors per track. However, some legacy systems' only disk has 32
sectors per track. When EVMS is used to add another partition to the disk
after installation, EVMS will retrieve the actual sector number from the disk
and attempt to straighten out the partition table. However, the system would
no longer boot after EVMS alters the boot partition, because boot information
is stored at a location according to the default sector number.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh evms.rpm evms-gui.rpm evms-ha.rpm
