Problem description

A security audit of the Cyrus IMAP server performed by Stefan Esser
revealed three remotely exploitable buffer and heap overflows. The
vulnerability potentially can be abused by an attacker to run untrusted
code as the user cyrus-imapd is running as (usually "cyrus".)

Solution

Please install the update provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using these commands:
rpm -Uvh cyrus-imapd.rpm rccyrus restart
