Problem description

  • A Bug in cupsomatic/foomatic-filters that allowed remote printer users to execute arbitrary commands as the uid of the printer daemon has been fixed (CAN-2004-0801)
  • A Bug that would allow a denial of service condition in the network browsing code has been fixed (CAN-2004-0558)


Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh cups.rpm cups-libs.rpm cups-client.rpm cups-devel.rpm
After the update you need to restart CUPS by issuing:
rccups restart
