Problem description

dos2unix, mac2unix and unix2dos do not preserve file permissions when converting a file. This patch addsthis ability.
dos2unix used to create a temporary file in the current directory and rename it to the target file after conversion. This failed when the target directory not on the same filesystem as the current directory. dos2unix will now create temporary files in the target directory.


Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Uvh dos2unix.rpm
