Problem description

This kernel update improves the stability on pSeries systems.
The following problems/bugs were fixed:

kernel stack corruption
time drifts when running ntpd
enable autofs
improve the HVC console on p690 regatta systems
support for nvram modification
update JFS to 1.0.17

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Uvh kernel-ppc64.rpm mk_initrd lilo
After these commands have been completed succesfully, reboot your machine:
shutdown -r now
