All systems running the CUPS print server should install this update.

Problem description

Security update to protect against a denial of service attack. The bug is exploitable for every system which is able to connect via TCP network to the CUPS IPP server. No extra user privileges are needed to do this.
It is recommended to immediately install the update package as provided. After applying the update, the CUPS server must be restarted Please restart the CUPS server by using the following command


rccups try-restart

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Fvh cups.rpm cups-libs.rpm cups-client.rpm cups-devel.rpm

After applying the update, the CUPS server must be restarted. Please restart the CUPS server by using the following command


rccups try-restart
