Indications

Everyone who experiences problems with MDNS/SLPv1 requests should install this update.

Contraindications

None.

Problem description

OpenSLP's MDNS code still uses the old _mdns query for service type discovery. This update changes the code to the new _dns-sd query.
Furthermore, slpv1 DA discovery handling does not work with scoped servers. This update fixes that issue as well.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as RPM packages that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh openslp.rpm openslp-devel.rpm openslp-server.rpm
