Indications

You need this update if you change Samba passwords from a Microsoft Windows NT
4.0/200x/XP client.

Contraindications

None.

Problem description

This is a maintenance release of Samba 2.2.8a to address the problem with user
password changes after applying Microsoft hotfix described in KB282741 to
Windows NT 4.0/200x/XP clients.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh samba-client.rpm samba.rpm
