Indications

Everybody using an Apple iPod should update.

Contraindications

None.

Problem description

This update enables Banshee to inter-operate with the latest iPod hardware and firmware updates from Apple, including support for generation 5.5 Video iPods and generation 2 iPod Nanos. Additionally, older iPods updated with firmware installed through iTunes 7 should remain compatible.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Fvh banshee.rpm libipoddevice.rpm ipod-sharp.rpm
