Problem description

This update fixes a security problem that allowed attackers to inject SQL commands into queries (CVE-2006-2313, CVE-2006-2314).

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

If you are running a PostgreSQL server please make sure that it is stopped or at least doesn't have any client connections during the update.
This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Fvh postgresql.rpm postgresql-libs.rpm postgresql-server.rpm postgresql-docs.rpm postgresql-contrib.rpm postgresql-devel.rpm postgresql-pl.rpm

If you are running or using a PostgreSQL server please carefully follow the instructions in /usr/share/doc/packages/postgresql/SECURITY-NOTICE to complete this security update.
