Problem description

A buffer overflow in the URL handling code of gaim has been fixed. Remote
attackers could exploit this bug to execute arbitrary code under the
privileges of the user running gaim. CAN-2005-1261 has been assigned to this
issue.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Fvh gaim.rpm
