Problem description

A vulnerability in the WebDAV module has been fixed. A remote attacker could crash a server process, leading to a Denial of Service scenario. Only installations configured for WebDAV access were affected. See http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=31183. CAN-2004-0809 has been assigned to this issue.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Fvh apache2.rpm apache2-prefork.rpm apache2-worker.rpm apache2-devel.rpm apache2-doc.rpm apache2-example-pages.rpm libapr0.rpm

After installing the update, the server must be restarted with the command:


	rcapache2 restart
