Problem description

The SuSE Security Team did a source code review of critical parts of the openldap2 package. It includes review of the libldap and liblber libraries and the slapd/slurpd dÆmons. Various buffer overflows which could be exploited by remote attackers have been fixed. Additionally, libldap has been fixed to work properly with suid-programs that link against libldap.
This package also contains a fix for some database locking problems in the ldbm backend which could lead to a crashing server and data corruption on heavy write load.
