Problem description

This update fixes a stack-based buffer overflow in MySQL's init_syms
function that can be exploited by authenticated users with the privilege to
create user-defined functions. (CAN-2005-2558)

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh mysql.rpm mysql-devel.rpm mysql-Max.rpm
