Indications

Everyone having problems with default type of file transfers should install this update.

Contraindications

None.

Problem description

Opposed to the documentation in the manual page, the ftp command line client negotiates to transfer files as binary by default. This update reverts the default transfer mode to network ASCII, as this is the expected behaviour of an FTP client.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Uvh lukemftp.rpm
