Indications

kdump: support for discontinuous memory on IA64.

Problem description

This update implements support for discontinuous memory on IA64. Because the
SUSE kernel for IA64 is built with CONFIG_DISCONTIGMEM, that update is
required to use makedumpfile with the SUSE kernel on IA64. It also contains a
fix for overlapping memory segments under special conditions on IA64.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh makedumpfile.rpm
