Problem description

Certain characters of the URL were not properly filtered. This allowed
directory reverse traversal attacks to access the web-root of tomcat.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Fvh tomcat5.rpm tomcat5-admin-webapps.rpm tomcat5-webapps.rpm
