Problem description

A buffer overflow within python's repr() function has been fixed. The CAN number CVE-2006-4980 has been assigned to this issue.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Fvh python.rpm python-devel.rpm
