Problem description

This update fixes various bugs that could make tcpdump run into an infinite
loop or crash when analyzing certain specially crafted packets. These bugs are
considered security relevant as tcpdump is often used to analyze security
relevant network traffic (CAN-2005-1278, CAN-2005-1279, CAN-2005-1280).

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh tcpdump.rpm
